Introduction

While working hard and having a good work ethic is great, the challenge for busy leaders is often really thinking about, “am I working on the right stuff and am I working in the right way? Who is the leader I want to be at work and in my life? What mindset am I bringing to my work? How do I approach challenges in my business? How am I managing my energy and effort?” Time is the only asset that doesn’t grow and everyone we talk to says they don’t have enough of it.

If you can answer ‘yes’ to some or all of these, it’s time to take a pause and invest in yourself. Are you feeling:

What we will focus on

Together we will explore, learn and practise working with:

problem solving vs growth mindset
common traps leaders can fall into and how to unlock them
effects of stress, burnout and strategies for building resiliency
approaches for fixing problems and managing polarities
making the time to lead.

Our workshops introduce tools that are practical and immediately applicable back at work. We provide a safe ‘sandbox’ for you to learn and practise with others. You bring your work environment and challenges. Together, we all grow.

Cancellation & Terms

Payment is fully refundable up to 28 days before the start of the event, less a 13% processing fee; it is not refundable thereafter. If the event is under-enrolled, we reserve the right to cancel 28 days prior to the event start date, and refund your registration fee in full.

Faculty Bios

Mary Beth Robles

Mary Beth believes that life is an adventure, and with that comes unknowns, risk taking, great success and failure. She provides support for leaders and their teams to see and grow their bigger selves by becoming more self-aware and more comfortable with uncertainty and risk, by cultivating vulnerability, resilience, and reflection as companions along the journey. Mary Beth’s fierce compassion for leaders combined with her background as a global corporate executive makes her uniquely skilful as a coach, trusted advisor and consultant for complex change. Mary Beth draws on her experience and learning 20+ years of progressive international leadership at Colgate Palmolive. She has lived and worked in the U.S., Americas, Europe, Asia and Pacific and understands the complex dynamics of leading an organisation on the ground as Managing Director and also leading from the centre as Vice President Global External Innovation, which included accelerating the company’s Innovation Capabilities. She served as Chair of Colgate’s Global Innovation Fund. Over the past five years she was worked with a broad range of client organisations around the world in consumer products, tech, banking, healthcare and communications to co-design and partner with executives and teams in executive coaching and development. Her pro bono work includes WWF, and coaching social entrepreneurs through the Coaching Fellowship at Mozilla. Mary Beth holds a BS in Spanish from Georgetown University, an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a Masters in Organisation Development from American University. Her extensive coach training includes The Coaches Training Institute (CTI), organisational relationship systems coaching with CRR Global, and developmental coaching as a Growth Edge Coach with Cultivating Leadership. She is certified in several instruments including Birkman, The Leadership Circle, Immunity to Change, Polarity Management, and the Global Leadership Profile (GLP). Mary Beth is a certified Dare to Lead™ facilitator with the education group of Dr. Brené Brown and a Designing Your Life Certified Coach. She is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coach Federation. Wellington, New Zealand is home and a great launch pad to the world.

Geoff Harrison

Geoff believes that leadership is both learned and co-created, and that the conditions necessary for leadership to emerge can be actively cultivated. He feels that in our increasingly complex world, the leadership patterns and behaviors that brought success today will need to evolve to meet tomorrow’s challenges. Using experiential and action learning techniques, Geoff helps leaders develop the self-awareness and interpersonal skills necessary for leading high performance teams, those with the capacity to grow and thrive while operating under conditions of complexity, risk, and uncertainty. Geoff is deeply committed to helping others increase their capacity to, and readiness for, leading others by helping them to become agile learners. He has over 15 years of experience helping individuals and organizations identify and re-frame issues that can derail effective team performance. He specializes in designing and delivering innovative developmental learning experiences and has had the opportunity to work with leaders in a variety of venues ranging from boardrooms to snowy mountaintops. Geoff has provided coaching, facilitation, and developmental programs to global leaders serving in a wide spectrum of public and private organizations. His extensive work in both the tertiary education and adventure education sectors provides the applied and theoretical foundation for his approach to learning and leadership development. Geoff has a MS from the University of Idaho and a BA from Humboldt State University. Geoff’s Ph.D. research investigated how business accelerators influence entrepreneurial learning and development in startups. Geoff holds a range of instructional certifications and qualifications including the Leadership Circle Profile and he is trained in Growth Edge coaching. A few years ago, with his daughter’s first word not being mum or dad but rather, ‘bye’, Geoff realized that his own world had become too complex and that he needed to recalibrate his priorities. Together with his wife and daughter they took a huge leap of faith, gave away all of their belongings, and moved from North America to Wellington, New Zealand to embrace a simpler lifestyle – one that prioritizes family, friends, and adventures.
