Why take this Learning Circle?

Sometimes, you just have to sit yourself down and give yourself a good listening-to.

You’ve noticed that every hardship is a growth opportunity. Yay! But every hardship is also… just… hard! How do you make the most of life’s provocations while also treating yourself kindly? How do you celebrate who you are today and invite forward the person you want to be tomorrow?

This Learning Circle will teach the foundations of self-coaching, a simple and powerful practice for engaging with life’s many “growth opportunities,” large and small, at home or in the office.

Self-coaching is the art of intentional, compassionate conversation with yourself, typically conducted in writing. Spacious listening, unwavering support, and penetrating questions are rapid accelerators of growth, whether you receive them from a professional coach or provide them to yourself. Within that conversation with yourself, you’ll also find natural opportunities to integrate the many insights and practices you’ve already developed elsewhere.

What will you learn?

In this circle, you will learn to dialog with yourself, writing as both client and coach. Like a professional coach, you-as-coach will listen, ask questions, and empathize with you-as-client, but not provide answers or advice. By the end of five sessions, you will be keeping yourself good company on a developmental path through life’s challenges with specific skills such as:

  1. Meeting yourself as coach and client
  2. Structuring a powerful self-coaching conversation
  3. Self-coaching for planning and decision-making
  4. Self-coaching for stress reduction and energy management
  5. Self-coaching for self-understanding and self-love

Who is this for?

This Learning Circle is for anyone wishing to guide and stimulate their own ongoing development. Previous experience with coaching, therapy, circling, nonviolent communication, or other developmental containers is strongly encouraged.

While the learning circle is not designed specifically for coaches, new coaches will find practicing on themselves a powerful accelerator of their professional skill. Experienced coaches are more than welcome, and may find elements of the learning circle familiar.

Testimonials

“The two-pen technique is brilliant and helps me be a kind, wise guide to myself in and out of the coaching moment.”
~ Rosi Greenberg, Artist and Facilitator

“Yotam has taken a lot of time to develop a technique that teaches us how to help ourselves in tough times. After two years of pandemic life, separated from our friends and family, I can’t think of anything more valuable.”
~ SW

“I’m feeling a sense of relief having found this idea of self-coaching through Yotam’s brilliance. Yotam makes the wisdom that we have inside of us accessible quickly and simply through his facilitation, presence, and frameworks. He gracefully guides us into our own power and resources that we so often forget we have.”
~ Nalani Genser, Coach and Talent Development Manager

“Yotam Schachter has created one of the more powerful and useful courses I’ve seen in a while. It teaches you to coach YOURSELF! I’m really impressed by the deep knowledge and insight Yotam has into coaching, as well as his ability to teach it in a way that quickly had us offering the same insight to ourselves. If you want to pay an up-front cost to get lifetime access to your own inner coach, this might be a good thing for you.”
~ Sara Ness, Chief Instigator at Authentic Revolution
