An Introduction to Mindful Self-Compassion

4th October 2022 at 11:00 am US Eastern Daylight Time

Register

This session is an introduction and practicum to learn mindful self-compassion (MSC). MSC is an evidence-based curriculum developed by Dr. Kristin Neff and Dr. Chris Germer to address shame, inner critic, impostor syndrome, and other forms of destructive self-talk. Peer-reviewed research finds that program participants report lower levels of stress and anxiety and greater emotional resilience.

The session will introduce some of the neuroscience underlying our tendency toward negative self-talk and rumination, and will explore more than a dozen meditative and contemplative practices that have been shown to make a difference.

What happens when the “land of gay & queer” meets the “land of leadership & coaching”?

Queer Flourishing for All

Through a focus on the lived experience of gay, bi, and queer men and some of the particular powers and pitfalls that they can find along their developmental journeys, Queer Flourishing for All aims to evoke new insights and new questions among all participants. Together we explore the territory where personal growth and leadership development intersect with gender identity and sexual orientation.
